The following website and pages detail the structure, policies, programme activities and background profiles of the incredibly dedicated staff involved during this period. Most importantly it includes the 2022 Evaluation Report compiled by Dr Simon Poole which sets out the immense learning from the Pilot
The programme pilot was designed to explore the potential of a joint enterprise to support veterans and emergency service personnel from the Gwent region of Wales recover from acute professional or military service mental health trauma. They’re work at the centre was also integral to the renewed health of this precious Ancient Woodland in the lower Wye Valley whilst learning new woodland management skills and being prepared for a return to professional duties and meaningful lives
In the future we are planning to engage many of these former participants in the continuing support of the woodland’s needs coppicing, planting and creating wonderful crafted wood products
