Objectives

We will use available materials from the woodland to make forms from clay.  These may be items we can use or may be sculptural.  We will use the environment for inspiration for what we create.  Participants will learn how to extract clay from the ground, will use tools constructed from found objects in the woodlands to make whatever they wish.  They will experiment with different forms of firing to create different effects, including pit-firing and raku.  Finally, completed objects will be finished and may be burnished with beeswax and may be used for exhibitions of work.
