Dr Adrian Neal

Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Head of Employee Wellbeing Service Aneurin Bevan University Health Trust Gwent

Dr Adrian Neal is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a background in business psychology, he is currently Head of Employee Wellbeing for ABUHB, Chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology Wales, and Co-Chair of the Wales Applied Psychologist in Health National Special Advisory Group. After working in the field of acute adult mental health and academia in the English NHS, Adrian moved to Wales in 2014 to specialise in Employee Wellbeing, developing a special interest in the psychosocial determinants of workplace wellbeing – particularly psychological safety, relationships, leadership and the role system factors play in maintaining toxic working environments. He has published in the area and is of the opinion that we will only meaningfully improve wellbeing at work if we firstly understand the true demands of our work, and secondly start to design work and systems with this in mind.
