Andrew Tuggey CBE DL Vice Lord Lieutenant of Gwent

Andrew is Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Gwent. A former Soldier and High Sheriff, Andrew was Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at the Houses of Parliament until September 2017. CPA UK builds capacity to strengthen developing partner parliaments and focuses on issues such as modern slavery, the empowerment of women, human rights and equalities, sustainability and climate change.  

Andrew is Chair of ScoutsCymru, the Gwent High Sheriffs’ Community Fund Panel, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity (Gwent) and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s Friend-i-Me Advisory Panel. An Ambassador for Homes for Veterans Cymru, Trustee of the Community Foundation Wales, Council Member of the High Sheriffs’ Association England & Wales, he is President, Newport Sea Cadets, the Royal British Legion Monmouth and the Royal Engineers Association Monmouth, and a Member of the Advisory Council, Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London.

Andrew was awarded a CBE in the Birthday Honours List 2016 for services to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the communities in South-East Wales.
