Amanda Williams

Amanda Williams QPM

Mental Health Liaison Officer Gwent Police

Amanda Williams has been a Police Officer for almost 30 years and for the past 10 years has been the Mental Health Lead for Gwent Police. She retired in Aug 2019 but has returned to Gwent police as the Mental Health Liaison Officer. During that time she has introduced a raft of Well Being initiatives into Gwent Police including setting up a Mental Health Support Group; introduction of 50+ Well Being Ambassadors (peer supporters) and over 90+ TRiM practitioners. Amanda was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal QPM in the 2019 New Year’s Honours list for her work around Mental Health in Policing. She emigrates to Transylvania with her husband Jon In October 2020.

Steering Group

Andrew is Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Gwent. A former Soldier and High Sheriff, Andrew was Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at the Houses of Parliament until September 2017. CPA UK builds capacity to strengthen developing partner parliaments and focuses on issues such as modern slavery, the empowerment of women, human rights and equalities, sustainability and climate change.
