Reconsolidation Therapy – New North American Research & Development For PTSD Treatment

Montreal clinical psychologist Dr Alain Brunet and Harvard University Researcher Dr Roger Pitman have been developing a trial method to support PTSD sufferers ranging from military veterans and survivors of French terrorist outrages over the last few years involving 400 participants

The treatment involves the use of Propranolol a hyper tension beta blocker one hour before a specialist therapy session. The session involves reading out a written description of the trauma experienced which has the effect of saving a new memory of the events in a less emotional version

The trial is now being expanded to include a new cohort of patients who have gone through a traumatic relationship breakup involving abandonment or infidelity
